MURPHY COURT PARKING UPDATE

Dear Residents,

Further to the email sent September 29, 2022, regarding the parking along Murphy Court, please see below an update to the no parking rules issued to the Ashford Land CTS 54388 on November 10, 2022 by the Body Corporate.

“We write to you on behalf of the Ashford Land Body Corporate (CTS 54388).

It has come to the attention of the Body Corporate that some contractors employed by owners/residents have been parking in streets within the Scheme, resulting in Brisbane City Council garbage collection trucks being unable to properly service the entirety of the Scheme. Please note the below Body Corporate By-Law in relation to this matter:

Allowing contractors under your employ to park on common property (except for within designated visitor parking areas) is in direct violation of the Scheme By-Laws, however, the Body Corporate also understands that there are extenuating circumstances due to the knock-on implications that Covid19 has presented.

As such, the Body Corporate requests the following:

  • Please ensure that all contractors park in the responsible owner/resident’s driveway.
  • If it is not possible to park in the driveway, the contractors may use the designated visitor parking areas.
  • Finally, if neither of the above options are possible, the contractors may park on one side of the street.
    • From February 1st, 2023, the responsible owner/resident must contact our office via email with the following information:
      • Dates the contractor/s will be on the property.
      • A phone number for the contractor/s so that we may contact them should the need to move their vehicle arise.

Please note that should the provided instructions not be followed, the Body Corporate will enforce its By-Laws and any offending vehicles may be removed from the Common Property without further notice. The Body Corporate appreciates your understanding and cooperation in this matter, and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our office at your convenience.”

The no parking rules were not only established along Murphy Court to ensure a safe environment for all residents but to ensure that access to your home by essential vehicles, i.e., Council waste collection trucks and emergency service vehicles, is not interpreted, and to ensure the streetscape is not continually damaged.

Parking is to be on the side of the road indicated by the red line in the image below. Please note when contractors are parking on the road, all four tyres are to be on the pavement and not on the nature strip. Parking on the road should not interrupt residents’ access to their homes.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Caretaker or Body Corporate should you wish to discuss the above matter further.
